Dealers who get steady enquiries online are not necessarily spending more — they're just more consistent about a handful of things. Here's what separates them.
1. They reply fast, every day
The single biggest difference is response time. A buyer who messages five dealers talks to whoever replies first. That means replying within 15-30 minutes, including weekends. Set WhatsApp alerts so you don't miss anything.
2. Their photos look clean
Good photos aren't about an expensive camera — they're about 10 minutes of effort. Clean the car, park it against a plain wall, shoot in daylight with at least 8 angles. Listings with more photos get more enquiries because buyers have fewer reasons to call and ask basic questions.
3. Their descriptions say something specific
"Good condition, full AC, power steering" tells the buyer nothing. "Single owner, all services done at Maruti authorised centre, no accidents, recent tyre change — bills available" tells them everything. Specific descriptions attract serious buyers and filter out time-wasters.
4. They use their storefront URL like a business card
Put it on your WhatsApp status, your physical business card, and share it in family and community groups. Buyers who find you through a personal reference convert much faster than cold leads.
5. They follow up
Most buyers talk to multiple dealers before deciding. A polite follow-up message 2-3 days after the first conversation — "Hi, still looking? I have a few new arrivals" — recovers deals that would otherwise go cold.
The common thread
None of these habits require money. They require consistency. A dealer who does all five, every day, will out-perform someone with a bigger ad budget who skips the basics.
